We boarded our ship, the MS. Konningsdam, on Sunday Sept. 2. We departed Amsterdam at 5:00PM and enjoyed the scenery of Amsterdam from the water and from our balcony. The next day was a sea day as we made our way to Copenhagen. We met our guide, Meta, and drove to see the famous statue of The Little Mermaid based on the story by Hans Christian Andersen. Next we visited Amalienborg Palace where we saw the palace guards standing watch. Luckily we were able to stop by the colorful buildings and historical wooden ships of the Nyhavn canal district. After lunch we toured Frederiksborg Castle which is now the Museum of National History.
