Sue Scapes 2014

These are pictures of some new art work that I have been doing. These are all made using YUPO paper and Alcohol inks with a technique developed by June Rollins. She calls her designs 'Dreamscapes. ' There are no paint brushes involved at this point. I create the effects using coffee stirrers, drinking straws, credit cards, cotton balls, my fingers and Q-tips. The inks are extremely fluid and can be manipulated by bending and or tilting the paper. I started off just dropping the inks onto the paper to see how they blended and moved on the paper. It was fun experimenting. Jack thought it would be cool to do one of these on a blank DVD. I gradually learned to make landscapes. Then I tried this technique on ceramic tiles ( the last 6 pictures ) seen at the end of this grouping. I plan to mount the tiles in frames, trinket boxes, and to discover any other interesting ways to display the tiles. Loving Retirement !
